BRILLIANT SHOW

Very good cast. Good story line using Queen classics. Scenery changes amazing. Sat in row A in the circle. These tickets come with a restricted view but it is only the handrail which can be easily seen over and does not ruin the view. Good adult show. Some suggestive language which would not be suitable for children. Show runs for 2hrs 45min which includes interval.

GOOD BUT UNDERWHELMING

Went to see ‘We Will Rock You’ at The Empire on Saturday 19th March. Lovely venue as always. The show, although very watchable, was more cruise ship/amateur dramatics that probably made the ticket prices quite steep and overpriced. Soundtrack was poor and the singers were drowned out by the (brilliant) band - not sure if a venue sound system issue or due to the live rock band? Some of the female singers were also not as world class as Ben Elton suggests in the pre recorded intro. Some woke ‘comedy’ has recently been written in to the show that is unnecessary. Last few songs and grand finale got the place bouncing. An overall enjoyable evening but nothing to shout from the rooftops about.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

Went to see this in Bristol with my mum on the 18th of April, the singing and band was great, but the story line was Diabolical, corny jokes and cheesy acting. We tried to like it and tried to sit it out but left at half time. Disappointed and other people left with us. Save your money and go watch something else. Can’t believe I spent nearly £80

FUN EVENING OUT

Liked the updates to the script. Added to its corny humour. Well performed but we spent time wondering if the songs were actually being mimed or just over amplified. Did seem odd that we were asked not to sing-along but we did at the end anyway. As juke box musicals go it ain't bad !

NOT AS GOOD AS 10YEARS AGO!

Watched the Shower in London over 10years ago at the Dominion Theatre and it was outstanding, however this time around I wasn't impressed.. The Voices of the cast were amazing but I found it boring this time around, the acting wasn't the best.

A HIGH SCHOOL PLAY AT BEST

My wife and I were so looking forward to this. Went to the Empire tonight... as usual a belting venue! We Will Rock You.... Absolute rubbish! It was like watching a high school play. The lads sang quietly and the girls screeched their way through what should be Queen hits. Poor Freddy will be spinning in his grave! You could not hear any of the words being sung. So bad we left at the interval! Ben Elton's attempt at adding humour just doesn't work. In my opinion save your money for Shrek in December.

WE WILL DEAFEN YOU

We waited 2 yrs due to Covid so were looking forward to the show. Great views but music was way too loud so singers had to scream the songs out spoiling the effect. Not keen on much of the script, jokes incredibly corny and at times disrespectful, by referring to Queen as girls. Dancing was very amateur and the choreography could be much improved. The sets were bleak and the entire production rather negative. If you’re a hardened Queen fan I don’t think this will be for you. Sorry to the cast, which included some talented singers. You can only work with what you’re given.

LEFT AT INTERVAL :(

Sorry this was the worst show I’ve ever seen. Obviously some very talented singers in the cast but let down by a bizarre story line, the sound quality was so loud and bad you couldn’t hear the words of the songs properly. Saw several people leaving at the interval not requesting the come back wristbands. Shame but I’d save your money.

Not good.It was a bizarre storyline and was like a year 6 production at school.

SEEN BETTER SCHOOL PLAYS

Oh dear! Story line was awful, singers were a mixed bag, women a lot stronger than the men. Acting especially poor, jokes, if you can call them that, were pathetic and tbh so bad it was embarrassing! We, along with quite a few others left either before or during the interval! However much we tried to enjoy it, wasn't going to happen! Seriously, save your money! 😒

SIXTH FORM PRODUCTION

Went on a Friday evening to the Bristol Hippodrome. Swathes of drunk groups, some of whom were ejected by security. Never seen anything like it in all my years of theater going. The show was awful. Terrible production values. The set was basic. The entire cast couldn't dance more than 3 steps in time. Female leads shrieking out the hits drowning out the weak male counterparts. Still none the wiser as to what the storyline was. The jokes seem to consist of song titles woven into poorly scripted chatter. Honestly. One of the worst shows I've seen, only made better by the fact I left at the interval and had a pint with the wife discussing how hilariously shoddy the whole thing was. I've seen better Christmas pantomimes at my kids primary schools. Queens hits have little or nothing to do with this monstrosity. Butchered every one.

EMBARRASSING

I hate to write a negative comment as I’m sure each member of the cast worked incredibly hard BUT it was a truly awful show. The script was dreadful. I’ve seen pantomimes that showed more depth of storyline. In general, the entire show came across as am dram which was disappointing considering the pedigree of the cast. Really not worth the 3 hour traffic jam on the M5 or the price!

AWFUL SOUND

Was really excited to see this. The lead characters were good singers but the sound was awful. We were in row G in expensive seats but the loud band drowned out singers. I knew the story line was nonsense but was expecting some great songs and a feel good evening. Like other reviewers we left at half time. Waste of money.

WE WILL ROCK YOU?? NO

What a shambles. Shouty wooden performances. I really wanted this to be so great... Disappointing. Shame on anyone who had anything to do with this disgrace

AWFUL

I love Queen. I love musicals. Why and how did they get this so so so wrong. Terrible singing, sorry shouting. Spectacular failure

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

The storyline was awful and I witnessed a few people walk out. Tickets bought for friends birthday and we were both terribly disappointed. I would have walked out too if I was on my own but I sat through the torture for my friends sake. The lead characters played their parts well but this was the only redeeming feature. Cannot believe this storyline hit the big stages.

1.0 star rating John stellar from Manchester,

TERRIBLE STORY LINE

Story line made no sense at all. The actors couldn’t be more over the top with their expressions like a college performance.
