Why see Top Hat?

There May Be Trouble Ahead

Top Hat is a decadent trip down memory lane, to the golden age of 1920 Hollywood glamour, with an unlimited supply of glitz and dazzle to take you away to another era, time after time. Based on the RKO motion picture starring the imitable Fred & Ginger, Top Hat is a decadent trip down memory lane to brimming with beautiful costumes and dazzling dance routines, set to some of Irving Berlin's most beloved songs including 'Putting on the Ritz', 'Let's Face The Music And Dance' and many more. Don't miss this new production from director and choreographer  Kathleen Marshall as it taps onto a stage near you from autumn 2025!

What Is The Story Of Top Hat?

Top Hat follows the talented and irrepressible Broadway sensation Jerry Travers, as he dances his way across Europe in pursuit of the beautiful society model Dale Tremont. A case of mistaken identity ensues, however, which seems to thwart Jerry's attempts to woo Dale at every almost angle!

This hilarious romantic comedy follows our hero and his muse from London to Venice, the production's brilliant set and costume design do the iconic Art Deco architecture and fashion of the 1930s much justice.

Stage Design

A great show with a fantastic stage design. The revolving stage was used to great effect in effective scene changing, often with assistance from the chorus line. In fact the whole cast worked very hard. ... Read more

Top Hat

Great escapist fun, despite technical hiccups on first night. Outstandingly talented and utterly professional cast, especially Phillip Attmore, whose quick thinking avoided a potentially excruciating wardrobe-malfunction moment, enabling the routine to continue without missing a beat. If you want to see tap dancing at its jaw-dropping best, don’t miss this touring show. ... Read more
